Is the XENOME Project concerned about the welfare of animals?
The proposal was submitted to the European Commission taking into account all the ethical and legal requirements in this area. Furthermore, in XENOME, there is an External Advisory Board, in charge, among other things, of the supervision of the activities in relation to the observance of the ethical and legal principles. Also, there is a specific work package devoted to ethical and legal aspects of xenotransplantation. One of the aims of this work package is to offer information about all the regulation referring to the use of animals in scientific research. Partners can make consultations. In this web site there is an area dedicated to the ethical and legal issues of xenotransplantation
